We have four sporting after school clubs

  • Monday – Y5/6 Boys Games Club
  • Tuesday – Fitness Fun Y3/4VM (Aut), Y4MT (Spr), Y3/4SB (Sum)
  • Thursday – Y5/6 Boys’ Football
  • Friday – Y5/6 Girls Games Club

Every Monday, a group of enthusiastic Y5/6 boys attend a ‘Games’ after school club. The aim of this club is to improve knowledge and performance within different game situations and to also improve fitness levels. At the club the children perform specific drills to improve shooting, passing, and control of the ball and learn about teamwork

This year, children from Year 3 and Year 4 have taken part in a fitness after school club, which looks to encourage physical activity and promote a healthy lifestyle. At the club, children play a variety of games that involved teamwork and competitive activities. Individuals are learning to improve sporting skills such as balance, co-ordination, agility and speed and are encouraged to participate in healthy activities outside of school.

Every Friday after school, girls from Year 5 and 6 take part in an after school club, which is run by sporting futures. The aim of the club is to improve and develop the group’s understanding in different games and the skills that are required. The girls are showing excellent teamwork and communication skills, this goes to show that they enjoy attending the club.

Y4/Y5 Games Club for Boys

Boys’ Games Club is held on a Monday after school and is delivered by specialist PE coaches, with the help of our own PE Apprentice, Mr Woodward.  Games Club helps students to have fun, be active and learn different skills and games. The club does various activities and sports including dodgeball, football, basketball, sports hall athletics, a food and drink game and many more.

Y5/Y6 Football club for boys

The Year 5 and Year 6 Boys’ Football Club is held after school on Thursday and gives the boys a chance to develop their football, teamwork and social skills. During practice sessions, the boys take part in various activities and drills, which help develop both basic and advanced football skills.  These drills include shooting, dribbling, passing, defending and attacking strategies. Opportunities are then given for the boys to apply the skills they have learnt, in a game situation.
